Que on the Yazoo

The Annual Que on the Yazoo BBQ Contest is sanctioned by Memphis Barbecue Network and features live music and more. Held the first weekend in May, Que on the Yazoo is a production of Main Street Greenwood, Inc., a nonprofit organization that promotes and celebrates downtown Greenwood through the preservation of its historic resources and through projects, events, and activities.

With the help of Hammons & Associates each year, the team develops a marketing plan that includes Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, radio, a modified website, enewsletters and television ads. Innovative taglines, posts, and clever hashtags such as “Swooning over Swine,” “Que up the Tunes,” and #howdoyouque, combined with images from previous events, streamline the marketing approach into a cohesive brand. H&A also assisted a local videographer/photographer to produce short films for future promotion.

The results of our efforts have been phenomenal. 2017 was the best-attended event yet and in 2018, Main Street Greenwood received an award for Outstanding Marketing Campaign from Mississippi Main Street.
