Greenville Air Force Base Museum

When Greenville, Mississippi, community advocates wanted to create a suitable exhibit to tell the story of the former Greenville Army Flying School and Greenville Air Force Base, they turned to Hammons and Associates. Benjy Nelken, a Greenville native and driving force behind the idea, was aware of Allan’s interest in local history and aviation and thought our agency would be a good fit. A scope of work was created and a budget put together, which amounted to a substantial project with very limited resources. We helped gather artifacts and craft the story from official Air Force records and remembrances of those who worked and trained there.  The result was a complete transformation of the mezzanine level of the Mid Delta Regional Airport into an exhibition that honors the men and women who once served there through WWII and the Cold War.
