GRAMMY Museum® MS

The inventive thinking of Allan Hammons led to the request of The Recording Academy® to build a GRAMMY Museum® in Cleveland, Mississippi. It worked.

Hammons and Associates conceived the seemingly impossible idea for GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi. In mid 2010, H&A was approached by a group of elected officials and community leaders from Cleveland, Mississippi, seeking assistance in identifying and executing a music-related project that would provide a destination attraction for their community. At a second meeting, H&A recommended an effort to build a GRAMMY® Museum on the campus of Delta State University. The community gave H&A a green light to explore the possibility.

A series of meetings led to the creation of a PowerPoint presentation and a substantial printed collateral piece that laid out the concept. The material was presented to The GRAMMY® Museum at LA LIVE and eventually The Recording Academy, where it was finally approved for construction. In March of 2016, GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi officially opened its doors. One of the world’s most technologically advanced exhibitions, GRAMMY Museum® Mississippi is a tremendous tourism asset for the state of Mississippi. H&A has acted as project consultant, assisting with fundraising and providing general project management. In addition, H&A created all collateral marketing and grand opening material for this exciting project.
